So Happy New Year!

It's 2019 & since I started this blog I have made a total of 2 posts...which is quite frankly not that great. Where have I been for the last year, what on earth have I been doing & have I got fatter in the process?

To answer these tedious (mostly tedious if you are reading this) questions succinctly:

1) I'm still in India, though now in Bangalore

2) I went out and got myself a job

3) Yes. Like a sack of potatoes. Lord have mercy.

However, I am determined to make this a year of ME. No more hating myself inexplicably for the things that I certainly CAN change & also to try and just love myself unconditionally.

UN-CON-DIT-ION-AL. 5 syllables that put together basically mean that there will be no conditions or in the words of the enlightened Katy Perry:

"Come just as you are to me Don't need apologies Know that you are all worthy I'll take your bad days with your good Walk through this storm I would I'd do it all because I love you, I love you

Unconditional, unconditionally"

Much like Perry above I hope that all facets of my #unconditional theme will spring forth around me with all the energy I would like to channel into my year of being #unconditional. So let's not get this twisted - I am not making a New Year's Resolution - I am making a conscious choice to saying "NO" to treating myself like I'm my own worst enemy this year (basically cease & desist from being an a**hole to myself) & instead saying "YES" to self-compassion! This is not a one-time thing that can be fixed with a gym membership, this is a life-long attitude I want to cultivate for myself which will be a journey - not a quick fix.

I figured since all the years of basically loathing myself haven't worked, why not try something different for a change! Not really totally sure what this means, but I just did some yoga to open up my hip flexors, did some dance practice that revealed I am 100% out of shape (but that's OK) & chalked out a to-do list longer than a python for the day:

May not be much, but I woke up & said to myself, "Hey Meena, you love dance - do dance! You want to get sorted for the day - get that to-do list done!" I also said to myself "Hey Meena, you love to write - get on that blog!" - So long story short, here I am writing this blog, with probably none to read it, but that's ok because I know I've written it.

So here's to ringing in this year of being #unconditional! Exploring more, dancing more, eating more - experiencing MORE!
